How Seaside IT handles your personal information. Last updated September 2026.

Who we are

Seaside IT is operated by Dylan Roberts trading as Seaside IT, based in Blackpool, Lancashire. For anything about your data, email hello@seasideit.co.uk.

What we collect

When you contact us: your name, email address, business name and message. If you have a portal account: your email address, sign-in information managed by Supabase Auth, and any profile details, support requests, subscription or invoice records shown in the portal. If you become a client: your contact and billing details, and the information we need to deliver your service. Our web host keeps basic server logs (IP address, browser and pages visited) to keep the site secure.

Why we use it

To reply to you and provide our services, to keep this website secure, and to meet our legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax purposes, usually six years.

Who we share it with

Only services that help us run the business, such as our email provider, web host, contact form provider, accounting software, Supabase for portal sign-in and records, and OpenAI for AI-generated chat answers. The sign-in page loads a fixed version of the Supabase JavaScript client from jsDelivr. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Chat assistant

The chat assistant answers questions using information from our website. The conversation stays in this browser tab so it remains visible as you move between pages. When you send a message, it is sent through our server to OpenAI to generate the answer; Seaside IT does not save the message as a chat record. The server keeps a short-lived rate-limit record derived from your IP address to prevent abuse. Please don't share card, bank, health or other sensitive details in the chat.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
